BAINSKLOOF PASS
The Bainskloof Pass project was mainly a slope stabilization project that was sublet by the Department of Transport in the Western Cape. The project was initiated after severe slope failures occurred in the pass after heavy seasonal rainfall. The design for the project was done by AECOM Consulting Engineers and included the clearing of the slope, the installation of soil nails, rock bolts and rock fall protection mesh with a erosion control blanket incorporated into the mesh. The entire installation was carried out while suspended from ropes.

CHAPMANS PEAK
The Chapmans Peak project was mainly a rock fall protection project that was sublet by the Department of Transport Western Cape. The project was initiated after severe slope failures and rock falls occurred in the pass after heavy seasonal rainfall. The design for the project was done by Melis & Duplessis Consulting Engineers, and included the installation of rock anchors, rock fall protection mesh and rock fall catch fences. The entire installation was carried out while suspended from ropes.

The project was initiated after severe slope failures and rock falls occurred in the pass after heavy seasonal rainfall. The design for the project was done by Terreco Geotechnical and included the installation of rock anchors, rock fall protection mesh and rock fall catch fences. The entire installation was carried out while suspended from ropes.
